Thanks. I'm a Slav but not a professional Slavicist, and I don't even have a decent comparative dictionary of Slavic languages at home. I know OCS zIdati, ziz^do~ 'build' and zIdanije 'construction, form' (Russ. zdanije 'building' is a Church Slavicism, I suppose) is , but I wasn't aware of the noun <zidU>, hence my surpise.
