Yes, I thought they were Bastarnae also. When you say he's jumped to
conclusions, I am assuming you mean in the last two sentences, which seem
to be kind of his interpretation, but he was refering to a Roman source
refering to Germani, and so I guess these Bastarnae may have been
Germani, of course we don't know for sure what language(s) they were
speaking at the time.
