Hey, something I've always wondered, were the Mycenaeans Ionian or
Achean? If they spoke Arcado-Cypriot, they could be considered Achaeans,
right? Arcado-Cypriot was the dialect spoken by the Achaeans wasn't it?


But then my Encarta Encyclopedia says:
"The Ionians seem to have been one of the earliest Greek-speaking
peoples from the
north to have reached the mainland of Greece. They may, in fact,
have been the first,
and were possibly the originators of Mycenaean culture." So I'm
confused.
