Hey, didn't Homer mention the Thracians as allies of the
Trojans in the Trojan war? Therefore, they seem to have been seen as
distinct from the Trojans. I don't know of any linguistic evidence for
the Trojans speaking Thracian, and I think it's a possibility that the
Trojans spoke an Indo-European Anatolian dialect, but I don't it is known
for sure what language they spoke.

And I don't know of any linguistic evidence that Thracian
languages were spoken in ancient Italy, nor is there a close connection
between Italic and Thracian.

Unless you could be referring to possible pre-Indo-European
inhabitants of Thrace who were possibly related to the inhabitants of
NorthWest Asia Minor and Troy, who may have been the Tursha/Tyrsenoi, but
of course there's no way to be completely sure about the connection of
these similar names (Troy, Tursha, Tyrsenoi, the Biblical Tiras, etc.),
but certainly it's possible.

Also, weren't the Sabines said to have come originally from
somewhere in Greece? What do Classical writers have to say about their
origins?

Adeus,
Michael
