Which a relationship can be here between Alb. "balë", Greek "falaina" ,
Latin "balena", rom. "balaur"?
It seems the root is "bala-" and it is regarded to an aquatic animal.
There is thew slavic "volos" regarding to animals too (for big animals?)
and germanic "wall-"
Further Latin knows "beluosus" as "Ungeheuer" = monstruous
