Not a seldom thing [:-)] in North American English, but OED has a modern quote from William Golding's _Free Fall_ as well: "My seldom night terrors". (Formerly, e.g. in Elizabethan English, it was perfectly normal usage.) What's good enough for a Nobel Prize winner ought to be considered good enough for Glen, I suppose.
