About some words woth or without nasal
In the greek dasos, I assume that the "a" originates from a
syllabic "n" *dnsos.
The italian serpe: Italian has two words for snake: serpe and
serpente.
Forthermore it has the verb "serpere" meaning to creep. "Serpe" cat
simply be regarded as just another derivation from the verb root serp-
in italian. In italian you can derive a noun from nearly any verb by
adding a wovel to the stem. If you use the vovel -e, this often
produses a name for something that does some intransitive action.
