Biblical Hebrew normally has Elohim + singular verb. Plural verbs occur
"very rarely". The form El also occurs. It comes from the verb ?wl or ?yl
meaning "be first, be strong", and means "strong man, hero" or "power" as
well as "God". The form "elo:ah" is Chaldee, rather than Hebrew, and is
masculine.
