the "true"? The frozen Scythians of the Altai (5th c.
BC) don't evidence these characteristics at all, yet
they were certainly more "Aryan" than the contemporary
inhabitants of Northern Europe... On another slant.
Why is it that Indians are so leery of "invasion"
theories? As far as I can see there is no contemporary
Indo-European population that can claim exclusive or
preferential descent from the "original"
Indo-Europeans. Certainly not the English, or the
Americans, or the Irish, or the French, or the
Italians, or the Germans, or the Russians, or the
Ukrainians, or the Poles, or the Lithuanians or
anybody. There is some "autochtonic" fantasizing
bandied about in all quarters, but in reality it's
"invasion" (and mixing) all the way. Why should the
Indians of India be an exception? Especially since the
early "invading" Indo-Europeans in their case were
hardly "Westerners".*****
