Thank you. Unfortunately, it cites but doesn't explain the geminate
of interest - [gg]! The 'bettra' rule in Section 1.5 is called
the 'first consonant-doubling rule in Old English'. This is very
frustrating - it looks as though there is a second consonant-doubling
rule, which would explain [gg], but that that rule has accidentally
been left out!

Still, it's a useful paper. Have you any idea how long it will be
available on-line?
