That's something else: gläsern-E! But even then there's only

"Hauch" of an "r". (Those whose "r" is better outlined are a
minority in the "Reich", chiefly in Switzerland & some areas

Schwabenland. Those in German enclaves in East-Europe...

[Moeller] nein. If you say not so loud " das ist ein eiserne
Ding" you will be begged to repeat yourself. Because if you do
not pronounce the "r" you will have " das ist ein eisene Ding"
where eisern= of iron and eisen=iron which changes the meaning
of what you say. And other the exemples could be listed here.
Fact is, you cannot renounce at "r" for "-ern".
