Interesting - now would the forms Tudyr (more 'correct' than Tudur I believe) and Theodoric be homologous or analogous?

I'm looking for a research subject and was thinking about comparing Brythonic personal names, until I was informed that someone of much greater capacity was already working on it. This is why I often return to related subjects.

To what extent can personal names be surmised to be cognate in the various IE languages? I assume it to be between zero and very little. The extant Brythonic languages have many similarities (with 'Cumbrian' also) and I have been informed that a number of similarites with Goedelic exist, but can we trace any names further back? Seeing as we can trace the name of only one god (I think), would this be to optimistic?

Have Tocharian personal names been studied methodically? Are they IE?

Thanks for your time and patience in dealing with these questions.
