The "Häuptlingsgrab in Südschweden" is the one in Kivik.
This is of course too early for Sarmatians and even Scythians, but at
least it shows that the concept of a ceremonial pointed hat existed
already then. Stephen Oppenheimer was of the opinion that the image
in the Kivik chieftain grave was of the original mound, the first
mountain to appear after the flood, but of course you can wear a
representation of that on your head too.
