I found a reference to one paper on Iron Age horse burials in
Södermanland and Uppland here:
http://www.hgo.se/nordark/sspa8190.pdf

Wigh Bengt, Gravar med häst och nöt från järnålern. En studie av fynd
och djursammansättning i järnåldersgravarna med häst och nöt i
Södermanland och Uppland.
A sudy of grave furniture and faunal assemblages in iron Age burials
containing horse and cattlebones in Södermanland and Uppland 47pp.
Stockholm 1989.

The finnestorp findings I talked about was about 1500 years old (from
memory from the news shows) and there was found a horse bridle, which
according to the earliest comments was supposed to have one of Odin's
ravenson it and be an ideal parallell to a raven-find in Högom
outside Sundsvall. As the later debate showed this seems to be a
great over-interpretation of the finder. In my opinion there is an
sort of ornamet of some sort on the bridle, but if it is a raven or
not I really can't say.
Bones from a horse were also found. Anyway, here are some links:

The högom finds are here:
http://www.umu.se/arke/hogom.html
but the bridle in Finnestorp was quite different from the one in the
picture Högom, so don judge it by that picture.
Best wishes

Thank you for the information.

"Bronze heads from the fighting-bridle" from Hoegom are very interesting.
Indeed such kind of bridle decorations were typical for Scythian and
Sarmatian steppes. And the style of the bird heads has close parallels among
images of that region. It was one of the most popular motifs. However it is
not easy to agree with those who see ravens here. IMO it is rather a bird of
prey (eagle, falcon) or even a kind of griffon.

Don't you know what a large round object is shown in the upper part of the
first picture there? A round shield? or a wheel?
