I have no information about the As people I must admit. But several
Scandinavian researchers have commented on the Asian aspects of Odin,
that he was a god of the ruling elite, and that he seemed out of
place in the Norse pantheon. There are very few "Odin" place names
here; "Thor" is much more popular. Obviously, the Norse religion is
not monotheistic, the As one might not have been, but that doesn't
exclude the possibility that Odin might have been borrowed from one
way back.
