remember clearly that in the Kyivan Primary Chronicle
(s.a. 898) where the etymology of a Kyivan Hill named
after the Old Ugrians [proto-Hungarians] is discussed
it is stated that these Ugrians arrived in its area
"and stayed there with their "vezhas" (a Chronicle
term for the waggons of the nomads, because many had
elevations that looked like tents), and the Chronicle
goes on (pardon the memory errors as to exact script)
:"byakhu bo KHODJASHCHI aki sut' Polovtsi"
>which could I think be properly translated as "for
they were "WAGGON-RIDERS" as are the Polovtsians" [the
Cumans of the chronicler's own epoch ca. 1100]
