Ah. The North-Germanic speakers don't really love
their languages.
We AmE speakers love funny Norsk accents. You all speak
English so
funnily nice. And just about all of you speak English. Aggh! Your
languages are at risk!
-------------------
This is absolutely wrong. Norwegians find Danish
and Swedish fascinating. I have heard of Norwegians who have
fallen in love with Swedes only because of the way
they speak. And I must admit that I find Swedish a very beautiful
language.
A descriptive name for my
own dialect would perhaps be Central Scandinavian.
So I find it easier to understand Danish than many
Norwegian dialects. But Swedish is no problem.
I guess Torsten is right about the west/east
division.
But the strange thing is it that the
communication between Swedes and Danes seems not
to be as well as their communication with Norwegians.
Do you agree Torsten?
