I was reminded of *pl-wm- in the Greek for "lungs", supposedly
meaning "floaters", and I got an image of the wheels holding up the
plough from the wet, muddy field like two floats. I suppose, without
ever having tried it, that the problem of ploughing with a wheelless
plough is to keep it from digging itself down into the wet ground.
