Actually, the driving force behind the mechanism I proposed to
explain some types of language change

is the emotion that in industrial states is called nationalism;
causing people to want to set themselves apart from other groups.
Describing nations leaving out nationalism as a driving forces makes
the description of the whole enterprise of that nation look futile:
What are they on about?
But let us agree on a compromise: the nationalism of other countries
has no place in linguistics!
