If Poseidon does mean lord of the land or earth, could this
correspond to the name of Sumerian deity Enki?

Enki was the lord of the subterranean fresh waters-Springs, Oases,
places in the Earth that provided drinkable water. Enki literally is
translated as Lord of Earth, isn't it?
