That's what happens when invent your own short-hand.
What I meant was that there used to be Slavs/Germanic speakers in the
area but there aren't that many anymore (as used to be). Therefore
they give up using their own geographical names (for rivers/mountains
etc in the area) and adopt "native" ones.
