Red & Black?

I recall having learned that the Aztecs used the expression "red &
black color" for the art of writing (and reading). I also recall
having read somewhere that so did the Egyptians.
I haven't seen this coincidence commented anywhere. But just in
case someone might find it useful I've chosen to dump it here...
