Erh - I thinnk you misunderstood me. What suggested was that it was
hidden when the Danes invaded Denmark, whether escaping from Attila
or driven out of the North Pontic region by Pompey (1st century BC),
at a time when it was already several hundred years old. In any case,
if they fled up the Danube (Snorri's story of Odin travelling through
Saxland to reach Denmark) they would have been close to Thrace on the
way.
