I objected to your identification of the Corded Ware culture with Proto-Germani in particular(and now you seem to have qualified your view by including other N European language groups, which is much more acceptable), as well as the identification of CW with a particular racial type. The "CW people" were not an ethnic or linguistic unit but _various_ peoples who happened to adopt that particular cultural package. The spread of CW (as opposed to that of Globular Amphorae) did not involve much actual migration. The fact that the culture spread across the N European Plain means that the physical types common in that area were also common among the carriers of the CW culture. But you will find all sorts of other types in CW graves as well.

The Polish Goths I mentioned could not have mixed with Steppe elements, since the burials in question (a huge and beautifully preserved necropolis in Kotlina Hrubieszowska) predate the Gothic migration into Ukraine, the coming of the Huns, etc. I suspect there is a tendency to classify any tall dolichocephalic skeletons found elsewhere as "Nordic". Well, I'm six foot tall myself. Maybe I'll get myself a battle axe.

The Corded Ware people were tall dolichocephals. This is not a myth. Especially those who invaded Denmark and brought the ancestor of proto-Germanic. See THE RACES OF EUROPE by Harvard Professor Carleton Coon. Goths in Poland two or three thousand years later are another matter. It is a well known fact that Goths, Huns, Sarmatians and all sorts of other people often travelled and lived together. You can't really tell from archaeology which ones spoke Gothic or came from the Baltic area. It is a not a myth that the people in the area that proto-Germanic came from had Nordic physical characteristics. This would include Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and northern Germany. The "Gothic" hordes in the steppes of the Ukraine might include other racial types.
