For what it's worth (about a penny) I agree with you, but then like
you I am not a professional linguist so I don't have to worry about
my credentials either.

You may like to consider adding to your list Celtic god Bel
("Beltane, the feast of the Fires of Bel"), perhaps Baal (those
dreadful fire sacrifices), "blask" (Polish brightness, brilliance,
radiance) - well, the list can be very long. The link between
"light" and "speak" is attested by the Genesis 1:3 "And Elohim said:
Let there be light. And there was light."
Hebrew root AMR means to speak as well as to bring to light ie
elucidate; light (AVR) has two meanings depending on spelling (ohr
and uhr) in the second meaning (lights =Urim) means revelation.
