I've seen the page with Ereshkigal. "Most likely she is the Destructive
Forces of Saturn as Inanna is Venus" This idea is weel-accepted or it's a
personal point of view of the author?
The Sumerian Gods and their planets (according to the list I know:
Utu (sun)
Nanar (moon)
Nergal (mars)
Nabu (mercury)
Marduk (jupiter)
Inana (venus)
Ninurta (Saturn - but also linked to Sirius)
1) Can Ereshkigal and Inana be the two aspects of Venus, Morning Star and
Evening Star) ?
2) Inana was usually paired to Dumuzi (a tale very similar to Adonis and
Ashtarte) or Adad-Ishkur (The Storm-God).
3) Has Marduk as Jupiter been replaced Enlil?
4) I'm trying to find a pattern in theses planetary associations:
Utu, Nanar, Inana and Ninurta were descendants of Enlil (Can we call them
the "Celestial Clan"?)
Marduk, Nergal and Nabu were descendants of Enki (Can we call them the
"Teluric Clan"?)
If we try to associate all planets with Enlil-gods, we could state that
Nergal substituted Ishkur, and Marduk substituted Enlil.
Saturn would be Ereshkigal which is also from Enlil's clan. But about Nabu?
