Wouldn't Atlas mean something like "without measurement"?
cf. Gr a- "not, without" & telos "far (?)" <- my Greek is rusty

Definitely coincidence since there is absolutely no convincing additional
evidence aside from this to prove such an outlandish conclusion. As well as
the connection with Nahuatl /atl/ "water".
