Re: help on Greek maia

Hi,
I have no etym. Greek dictionary on hand. Could anyone let me have the
etymology of maieuo (o mega) - to assist in childbirth, maia - midwife.
Please spare me any reconstruction; I would like to know the real
semantics of the word - if actually known.
