A bit of Googling turned up some sort of missionary site which
contained the following:

"The Auxiliary have longed to provide the Gamit people with some form
of Scriptures, but Gamit does not exist as a written script. Although
they are an industrious and enterprising people, many Gamit speakers
are unable to read and write. "
