I'm hoping Qalamites can offer some recommendations and tips in
selecting a bookcase. I've reached that threshold where I need a
first class long term solution. Function is more important to me than
form, I live in a humid climate so that is a primary issue of concern.

I'm thinking of a wood bookcase and locking glass doors. Is there one
type of wood that absorbs or repels humidity better than another?
Does glass tend to trap humidity in (like a green house)? Would
running a dehudifier next to the bookcase make any practical difference?

Any tips on what to look for and what to avoid would be appreciated.
