This reminds me that a while ago I bought a new Braun pocket
battery-operated shaver. IIrc, it was blister-packed, with text in
English. Concealed by the removable support for the pierced-foil "cap" was
a bit of Russian that said "Made in* Kitai". I remember my father's
telling me that "Kitai" is "China" in Russian, very likely from the same
root a "Cathay". *I assume; didn't try to translate.
