I tried the Thai picker in IE, WinXP without any difficulties but my
full use of it was to type 'spaghetti' and 'whisky' and
google 'hotel', using Marco's book. Got some great hotel pages in any
case. Oh, yes I did google Thailand in Thai and got close to a million
hits. And then I found a neat page which tells you how to write your
name in Thai.

So I spent some time with it and it certainly works as advertised.
The Tamil picker, on the other hand, is not only for farangs. I am
working with a Tamil teenager right now, who is starting a blog in
Tamil. When I ask if she would like to learn how to *keyboard* Tamil
she looks at me like I must be some crazy lady - but with the syllabic
picker she is starting to compose easily, not distracted by keyboard
issues, but always thinking about what she wants to write.
