Actually, that is only for a small subset of what might be called a
computer - something akin to "desktop computers", but not necessarily
PDAs or phones or "MP3 players" or set top boxes as they rapidly acquire
the power and connectivity of desktops.

Maybe it would be more accurate to say "would have to use an alphabet to
use a certain subset of applications".

Still, that is a non-trivial set of applications, so ME's broader point
holds.
