I am convinced ny the research that these are not used by those
who become literate in Vai outside of the school system. And
that is tje traditional Vai literate. That is the whole point about
Cree, the system *looks like* it has this feature, but if people
don't use it then it doesn't have much effect.
And Michael, I am *not* complaining about the encoding , I don't
know if these issues are in any way related, but Vai, like Cree,
has some special features, as a tradtional syllabic iteracy, that
make it worth discussing.
