I think we all know what you meant. Someone's status needs to be shown
independent of what they write for you to consider it worthwhile.

Perhaps your mail client(s) have filtering capability. If so, you can
use that - my headers are consistent so you can probably make a match.

Wow! Who'da thunk it?

Of course not. You jsut participated, and extended the conversation (how
else would we know about your long term interest in it?). Which is all
well and good and welcome.
My suggestion is to be less selective about complaining how other people
express their interests if they don't fall into the same exact cubby
holes as yours - you might learn something form someone. That's how I
learn on this list and others.

Takeover? That is a harsh word. As I mentioned, computers and writing
systems are now intertwined, in the same way that parchment and writing
systems have been for centuries.

Oh well, whoever begged you may have misjudged your level of interest.
But I think you have managed to stick around and complain even if it is
not what you are interested in, rather than leave, for quite a long time!

Seems like it to me. You just said the topic is not wholly to your
liking, and yet rather then just ignore the list or leave, you have
harangued an ill-advised split which was made without consensus, just to
avoid your haranguing.
I guess that is somehow something worthwhile to have done.

Agreed. I was thinking it would be a more serendipitous meeting.
Best,
