I have finally found that Kuralsoft 3.1, and possibly some other SW
does indeed have typewriter input (visual order input) available in
Unicode and it works well in Wordpad. I was able to google with it -
my ultimate test.
I think linguistically the syllabic input is better. It can really
act as a tutorial in syllable compostition. However, typewriter
input, called "type as you write", would be great for someone who
already writes Tamil fluently.
Also, I haven't had any trouble with Uniscribe since last fall when
my beta version of Indipad (which provides its own window) expired.
I downloaded a new version and the bug is fixed.
So my Tamil input problems are resolved better than I would have
thought. Much of the information I have learned this year has served
me well to support others as well as myself in multilingual
wordprocessing. Thank you all.
