I checked only one, <StoneSerifStd-Medium.pdf>, and quickly counted about
250. That leaves only about 6 more (incl. 00 hex) to go, to fill up an
8-bit codespace.

Btw, I see, better, why people like Adobe fonts!

Not nearly as many as a WGL-4 (WGL4?) font, by a considerable margin.
