Indeed; I was thinking of Web publishing when I mentioned GIFs; for WWS, I
rather doubt that GIF would be the appropriate image format.

Btw, for Wintel machines, IrfanView, freeware, primarily a viewer, does a
good number of simpler image-processing functions; also does format
