If these refer to progressive versions, the latest of which
supercedes the previous, then probably not.

If the braille alphabet is the same (apart perhaps extra symbols for
the diacritical [accented] characters in French), then no. But is the
same braille used in say China, Russia, or the Middle East as in the
US? If not, then this would be part of what I mean.

Yes, including perhaps indigenous systems that do not have the
prestige and perhaps other qualities of the dominant braille system
(s).
