And here is another bit of little known trivia that has nothing to
do with writing systems. This week Vancouverites will celebrate
Gung Haggis Fat Choy. This is a fusion of Chinese New Years with
Robbie Burns Day. For those who celebrate in style, the men wear
kilts and the women wear silk! Haggis wonton is on the menu.
University students at Simon Fraser University wear whatever they
like as long as a good time is had by all. (There is no political
comment associated with this contribution to qalam!) (If I ever find
out how to write gung haggis fat choy in Chinese, I will post it.)
