Of course not, and that's the point. Sequoiah's printer did not have
facilities for cutting type punches, so he chose sorts from existing
fonts and used them for the hand-drawn characters, with Sequoiah's
approval. The Cherokee printed shapes are elaborate and complicated. But
the Cree shapes are minimal and don't need to be explained by any sort
of influence -- especially since there's no correspondence between sound
and shape between the two schemes.
