Ethnologue lists the following Cree languages:

"Southern East" or "East Inland" (east of James Bay to east of Lake
Mistissini)

"Northern East" or "East Coastal" (east coast of lower Hudson Bay)

"Moose" (Southern James Bay)

"Swampy" (west coast of James Bay and Hudson Bay)

"Plains" (central-north Manitoba - Alberta)

"Woods" (far north Manitoba - Saskatchewan)
