Yes, that is what I was hoping for. BTW some day it would be nice to
find a way to differentiate between the different uses of the
term 'diacritic'. I believe you are using with the same sense that
I was.

I rather like the Naskapi solution, just eliminate them, except for
labialization. If everyone else would follow suit the internet could
be a great resource for language revitalization.

Thanks for that hint about Vietnamese. It was on my list for this
fall. However, I took second look at all those accents and decided
it would just have to wait.
