I liked Mario's description a lot. I would hope to write as clearly when
explaining technology, which is something I do often on another
YahooGroups List.
As to "module": {My apologies for not reading earlier posts yet! --nb} I
don't think that's a term used by programmers, but it's appropriate. It
refers to the part of the program that, in this case, accepts user
commands and operates on the internal text data. In a browser, for e-mail,
it's sometimes called the composer. In a word processor, it is only part
of the whole application; other parts of a WP are interfaces with spelling
and grammar checkers, display formatting, and file handling (loading and
saving). Formatting the internal text data into the specific type
requested by the user (such as .doc, .rtf, or plain text) is yet another.
