This is a novel usage of this term. That's not to say that I eschew
innovation, but one needs to evaluate whether an innovation is useful.
If the intent is to refer to Chinese writing as morphophonemic because
that compound word has roots that refer to units of meaning and units of
pronunciation, I can see the motivation, but I think it is not helpful
considering the well-established usage of that term in a closely related
field, and the existence of well-established terms to refer to Chinese
writing.
