Basic question: I can't imagine a long-duration unvoiced consonant.
Another thought is that a voiced consonant seems like a vowel with
very-atypical formant frequencies (to use an acoustical term).

(What is a double "ch", as in Kachch / Kachchh? It's a region of Gujarat.)
