Dear Qalam members,

This short notice is to remind you that the de-facto quoting standard
on electronic mailing list is to place quoted text *above* your new
text.

This convention makes threads more readable, as it keeps question and
answers in their natural chronological order.

Also, please remove from quoted text anything which is irrelevant for
your reply, in order to keep the size of messages down to a minimum.
If you wish, you can replace the pruned text with (...) or some
similar sign.

E.g., suppose william@... wrote this:

If we shadows have offended,
think but this (and all is mended),
that you have but slumber'd here,
while these visions did appear.
And this weak and idle theme,
no more yielding but a dream,
gentles, do not reprehend.

Suppose that you want to reply that: (a) no, they shadows didn't
offend, (b) you don't know what "slumber'd" means, and (c) that theme
was indeed weak and idle.

This is what your reply should ideally look like:

William wrote:
> If we shadows have offended,

No offence at all, Willy!

> think but this (and all is mended),
> that you have but slumber'd here,

Please, define "slumber'd".

> (...)
> And this weak and idle theme,

Indeed. ;-)

Please *AVOID* unreadable replies like this:

everything is ok Willy! btw, what on hearth is
a "slumber'd"? and, yeah, that was indeed
weak and idle ;-)
