I think the *original* Cherokee syllables looked a little like this.
That is, the ones first drawn up by Sequoyah. They were changed when he
went to a printer to start using them, since the printer of course
didn't have sorts for them, so they went through his pile of oddball
letters and maybe took a file to some of them...

I'll have to see if I can find a picture of the originals.
