John,

Where is the "official" reference for US script writing? I thought american
schools varied in what they taught for script.

I didn't go to a public school (but it was an american school) so I can't
speak with certainty, but I learned a script uppercase Z that looks like a Z
with a tiny curl at the top and a lower case z like a 3.

I suspect handwritings are different by either school system or by region
around the US, but I only assumed that because when I transitioned to public
school I noted handwritings were very different. It could also be that by that
time (4th, 5th grade) people had personalized their writing.

There must some references we can cite...
