In this case, I wonder whether Ethiopic IT can do without Latin letters and
other ASCII characters. Of course, these character are not needed in normal
text, but programmers and computer operators may need them for all sorts of
programming and interaction with computers.

By a cultural or political point of view, this is perhaps unfair. But that's
the reality of computing: Ethiopic programmers probably want to use standard
programming languages, and still be able to type in Ethiopic script inside
strings and comments.
